Fortunate Thoughts Before Fourth of July!

Well, this blog post is one up after a while!  Dang, it's been at least three months since I have written on this blog!  Anyway, the title for this post is more of a recollection than anything else.  Of course, tomorrow is July 4th...HAPPY BIRTHDAY UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!!  Now to the more important stuff at hand.  I have been thinking recently about what is around me...(like I do at all).  Really, I have...my younger sister, Pragna, age 11 has a friend whose parents have emigrated from Columbia to the United States to build a better life for their children.  Their oldest daughter Sara, who is almost like a sister to Pragna (that is how close friends they are,) usually, rather always has not so good days.  Both of her parents work, and work hard to put food on the table, and a roof over the heads.  This poor Sara always is alone at home.
What we define as a bad day for us kids would be either being grounded for misbehaving (being on Facebook too much or running up the phone bill etc..) but in Sara's case, she is left alone at home during the summer for pretty much the entire two months!!  On the flip side, I, a college student throws a fit over the fact that I do not have a 250 GB hard drive for my Xbox 360S, while in a few days, I am on a plane going half way around the world to India!  I have something to look forward too, and boy I am dang fortunate...REALLY!!
My main point to ponder:  Think about yourself, and how far you have come today.  Think into consideration who have helped you to come this far, to be the person that you are today.  Now, then think about other things (things that you don't have which you want).  Evaluate, what you have now, and what you don't have....you will be very surprised!

Until the next post, keep pondering :)
